Great tour and amazing place, our guide Tim was amazing and gave us a ton of info on Tasmanian and Hobart's history and interesting info about the place! You get just enough time in the rainforests and the Russell Falls - a couple of spots on the way including Salmon Ponds were well chosen as well! Don't miss this when in Tasmania!
A well-packaged tour and sufficient time were given to explore the National Park to the fullest. It would have been a great experience had I not chosen the "lunch" option. It should have been better arranged (eg. Lunch voucher given or otherwise) so that we would not have to be caught in an awkward situation when the servicing staff at the cafe had no clue about the lunch arrangement. We followed the instruction of our guide, ie. to just report our names at the cafe and tell them we are with the tour group. The servicing staff was clueless and left us waiting for a while and when we asked again, she asked if we were prepared to pay for our meal first. That totally ruined my appetite and my day. It turned out there was only one servicing staff who knew what was going on, but she happened to only come over afterwards. This could be avoided had a lunch voucher be provided to us at the start.
We had a great day in Salmon Ponds and Mt Field National Park. Booking was easy, the group was a good size (probably about 15 people) and the guide was extraordinary, he seemed to know everything there is to know, both while driving through the country and in Mt Field and Salmon Ponds. Breakfast and lunch were great, and the scenery was beautiful. It was good that we could choose for ourselves if we wanted to do a longer or shorter walk in the national park, it made everybody get their own experience and not being pulled back or stressed by the others. A great day!
