Hobart's Mount Wellington - crowned by alpine vegetation and dusted by snow in Winter - provides one of the most scenic day tour destinations in Tasmania, enabling visitors to glimpse the unfolding panorama of river, fields and the aquatic setting of Hobart town. This gift voucher will send the recipient on a morning tour of all the highlights of not only Hobart but also Mt Wellington itself. Guests will visit St David's Park and Battery Point with its charming historic houses, boutique shops and pubs, then head to see Anglesea Barracks, home to Australia's oldest army facility.

Travel to South Hobart to view the fine examples of early Tasmanian homes, and the Cascade Valley - home of the nationally-renowned Cascade Brewery and Gardens. After a few more iconic sights, the tour will then head to its core highlight - Mt Wellington's summit, a harsh, rocky alpine environment that affords unsurpassed views on a clear day where guests can witness the panoramic spectacle of Hobart and its surrounding suburbs, towns and vast waterways.

Nigel had a lot of knowledge regarding Hobart and Mt Wellington. Nigel went the extra mile. Once in Mt Wellington, it was very cold with snow, very enjoyable. We also went to the Female Factory which was very informative. We were also shown other attractions of Hobart.

The trip was nice but disappointed we could not get to the top. The driver was great and showed us different alternatives. Don’t think this tour should be offered in the mornings but rather the afternoon to give opportunity for the weather to clear.

For our Mt Wellington tour, we had Tim the Grayline Tour Guide. It was a cold, cloudy and rainy morning in Hobart with snow expected at the top of the mountain so right from the beginning Tim let us know the road to the summit was closed. However, he said we would head up there to see if the road reopened. We got to the Springs and the road was still closed but Tim let us get out at the site of the old hotel to experience the weather. It started to snow which was lovely. We then turned back around and visited the Cascade Brewery and Gardens, and the Female Factory. Tim took us to Mt Nelson which had beautiful views of Hobart, though not as good as Mt Wellington would have been. Overall we enjoyed our Saturday morning tour with Tim. He was very passionate, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. We will endeavour to get back up the mountain with Grayline next time we go to Hobart.
